About ScanX (Company history and development)

ScanX - a Revolution in the Digital Transformation of Reality ScanX is a highly reputable team of professionals with extensive experience and access to cutting-edge equipment and technologies from Leica Geosystems, providing reliable and high-quality engineering solutions for ambitious projects within specified timeframes. As a subsidiary of Navigation and Geodetic Center, a company with over 30 years of experience implementing geoinformation technologies such as GNSS, laser scanning, and BIM in Ukraine, ScanX is committed to a modern approach to project implementation and friendly communication with their partners.

1991

Navigation and Geodetic Center, established in 1991 at the National Aerospace University – Kharkiv Aviation Institute, aims to introduce modern geoinformation technologies, including GPS, in Ukraine. The company has a robust business potential and an innovative production team. One of NGC's promising endeavors in contributing to the digital transformation of the world is the ScanX project.

1995

Navigational Geodetic Center, in partnership with the National Scientific Center "Institute of Metrology," held the first scientific and practical conference on the utilization of GPS in geodesy in Ukraine.

2005

Navigational Geodetic Center was appointed as the official representative of Leica Geosystems, a Swiss company and a global leader in geoinformatics, in Ukraine. Additionally, a second sales office was established in Kyiv, with the main office of NGC located in Kharkiv.

2007

The Navigational Geodetic Center was the first in Ukraine to introduce a new data collection technology - laser scanning. The first generation of Leica Geosystems scanners, Leica ScanStation, was utilized to create a digital project of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and to model the Azovstal steel plant.

2008

The service center has undergone of Leica Geosystems recertification. It is the only service center in Ukraine that provides metrological verification and calibration, warranty and post-warranty maintenance of geodetic equipment, technical support for partners of the Navigational Geodetic Center.

2010

Navigational Geodetic Center applied automated control systems for construction equipment, such as graders and asphalt pavers, for the first time in Ukraine during the construction of runway of Kharkiv International Airport. This serves as a vivid example of geoinformatics application in road construction.

2012

Navigational Geodetic Center has deployed a network of 10 GNSS permanent base stations in the Kharkiv region. Land surveying and cadastre tasks are now provided with precise coordinate referencing.

2015

Navigational Geodetic Center starts comprehensive equipping of major mining enterprises (Metinvest, Ferrexpo, ArcelorMittal) with advanced technologies from Leica Geosystems. The creation of GNSS services, digital models of quarries using mining scanners, and determination of volumes using UAV imagery have raised the level of domestic mining and beneficiation plants.

2018

Navigational Geodetic Center has implemented a new level of laser scanning based on revolutionary solutions from Leica Geosystems, namely the BLK360 (the most compact scanner) and RTC360 (the fastest scanner). These advanced technologies were used for 3D scanning of industrial, infrastructure, and energy objects.

2021

ScanX actively mastered the technology of mobile scanning. The most advanced mobile scanner from Leica Geosystems, namely Leica Pegasus Ultimate, appeared in Ukraine. Digital transformation is actively advancing in infrastructure and road construction.

2022

ScanX is actively involved in projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine following Russian aggression. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is being equipped, specifically the Institute of Forensic Expertise, with modern data collection tools for destruction analysis. The high-performance scanner RCT360 and technical support from our team allow experts to quickly master and apply this technology.
