Mobile Laser Scanning in Barvinkovo Details
Summary
- Barvinkove is located in the southern part of Kharkiv region. The town has experienced rapid development, becoming popular in recent years. It is known as "the grape city" due to its expansive vineyards and has a strong agricultural industry. The city is home to thriving industrial plants, including a railway factory and a construction materials plant. Barvinkove boasts cultural landmarks like the Assumption Church and the Museum of Barvinkove's history. However, since February 2022, Russian aggression has caused destruction. Despite the devastation, Barvinkove requires development and reconstruction, and our team is actively involved in these efforts.
- The objective of the project was to create a topographic plan for specific streets in the city, as requested by the client. Some streets had very poor asphalt quality, causing inconvenience for local residents and posing a danger to vehicles. Therefore, a decision was made to conduct a major repair of these streets. To determine the scope of work and estimate costs, a topographic plan was obtained using mobile laser scanning with the Leica Pegasus Two Ultimate scanner. It allowed for the creation of an accurate 3D model of the street section, providing detailed information on the condition of the asphalt, such as pothole dimensions and unevenness, as well as elevation data for slope determination. With this data, it was possible to plan the repairs, including selecting optimal materials for the pavement and assessing the cost of the work.
